Jesus Christ is building His church. The church is the Church. The church is not a building, an air-conditioned facility, or even a non-profit entity. The Lord’s “people” are His church, and they are found in thousands of local congregations all around the world. Congregations just like ours.
We’re a people for His own possession. Instruments in the hands of a mighty God. People in love with our God and worshiping our Savior. It really is that simple. We’re not a perfect people, but we are a people boldly declaring the words of a perfect God. We’re just so blessed He’s called us to be a part of it all!
At Faith Baptist Church we also have a heart for people of every nation, tribe, and tongue. We recognize that we should follow Jesus’ example and minister to the ones around us. We’re not focusing on the language they may speak, the trials they have endured, or even the challenges they may face in the future. Our goal is to worship God while loving the people around us, inviting them also to know the Lord who made them.
In Philippians 3:12-14, the Apostle Paul compared his life to running a race. Paul had the right idea when he wrote,
“I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
